Our Animals
. . .
We have a variety of different animals wandering around:
Pygmy Goats
. . .
We have a lovely herd of friendly pygmy’s who all love a fuss. Our resident Billy Goat, Jimmy, is a bit of a celebrity and has been used on numerous photoshoots – he likes to think he should be on the next L’Oreal advert.
We breed from our girls and if you are interested in becoming a goat owner, please speak to us and we can always add you to our waiting list.
Golden Guernsey Goats
. . .
We were lucky enough to have one of the largest herds of this rare breed in the UK. One way to help ensure this gentle, sociable diary breed survives is to farm them in ways that suit their characteristics. We always leave the baby kids with their mothers and share the milk with the youngsters until they have decided they are weaned. We only milk the excess milk from our girls and from this milk we have we make soap.
This soap is fantastic – even if we do say so ourselves! We only use 100% natural ingredients and absolutely no chemicals. Please pop over to our online shop to read more about our soap and shampoo bars.
Try it out in our bathrooms too and see how good your skin feels.
Miniature Horses
. . .
They may be small, but they are mighty! We breed two different types of miniature horse here, Falabellas and American Miniature Horses.
A purebred Falabella is incredibly rare, with less than 2000 remaining in the world. The Falabella, despite its size, is not considered a pony but rather a miniature horse. The Falabella was originally developed in Argentina and all our Falabella’s bloodlines are traced straight back to the Falabella Ranch in Argentina.
AMHA
. . .
Our American Miniatures are registered in American and have to meet the Association Standard of Perfection. All are under 34 inches tall.
Our miniatures show internationally and are world renowned. 2 years running we have managed to achieve World Champion wins, European champions and too many wins and placings around the UK and Europe to mention -we look forward to what the next season will bring.
All of our minis have a purpose, we also use them as therapy ponies and they are frequent visitors to hospitals, hospices, old peoples homes to name a few to spread a little happiness to all who meet them.
This is why it is incredibly important that visitors here adhere to a simple request – please do not feed our horses anything, not even picked grass out your hand, by doing so you will make them expect to have a treat and this in turn means they will be unable to carry out their valuable work they love to do.
You only have to look at them to see how well fed and cared for they are, they don’t need extras!
From early Spring through to Autumn is when our tiny foals are born – you can watch them jump and leap around the fields exploring their surroundings.
*We do have animals for sale at certain times of the year, but please note that homes are vetted rigorously and only sold to the perfect home*
